Crypto notification app checklist

How to check a crypto alert app's venue, wallet boundary and claims

A crypto notification can compress a volatile move into one urgent message while omitting venue, quote asset, liquidity, time and wallet risk. Treat it as a prompt to verify public context, not proof that the same conditions exist elsewhere. Check app boundaries before opening links or approving access.

Short answer#

Short answer

crypto alert app risk checklist. Check a crypto alert app's venue, quote asset, data time, wallet permissions, transfer requests and notification pressure before relying on a push message.

What to check first

Market pages use real or cached-real quote data only. Why quotes can differ and how to read data-quality wording.

What not to infer

Content is educational and not investment advice. Educational content only. Not investment advice, not trading instructions, and not a result claim.

Identify the venue and quote behind the message#

Record the asset, quote currency, venue, market type, timestamp and time zone. Prices, depth and conditions differ across venues; derivatives are not the same as spot markets. If the app omits venue or observation time, a percentage move is not universal market context. Check for delay before comparing it with another screen.

Keep a clear wallet and account boundary#

Check whether the app needs only notification permission or requests an exchange login, API key, wallet connection, signature or recovery phrase. Do not disclose a seed phrase. Inspect what each permission can read, trade, transfer or withdraw, and verify deep links independently instead of opening them from an urgent alert. A market notification does not require custody access merely to describe a price movement.

Separate market context from transfer pressure#

Be cautious when a message combines a market move with a request to transfer crypto, pay an extra fee, unlock a withdrawal or follow an impersonated public figure. FTC guidance highlights that crypto payments can be difficult to reverse and that unexpected payment or investment claims deserve independent verification. CFTC guidance also notes volatility, manipulation, cyber and platform risks. These limits make venue and custody checks essential; they do not turn an alert into a forecast.

Keep education separate from account access#

A useful educational notification explains what was observed and what remains unknown. It should not request a transfer, wallet signature, leverage choice, entry or exit. MarketPulse does not connect to a wallet or exchange account. Its first note uses usable real or cached-real market context when available and shows no sample price when quote quality is insufficient.

Key principles#

Venue context

Check venue, quote asset, timestamp, market type and liquidity. One platform's movement may not represent another platform's conditions.

Wallet boundary

Prefer notification-only access. API keys, wallet connections, signatures and recovery-phrase requests are separate security decisions.

Transfer pressure

Pause when an alert leads directly to a crypto transfer, extra fee or withdrawal-unlock request. Verify the recipient and claim outside the app.

FAQ#

Why can a crypto notification differ from another app's price?

Crypto trades across separate venues with different quote assets, liquidity, products and timing, so one message may not represent every market.

Does a crypto alert app need my recovery phrase?

No. A recovery phrase controls wallet access and should not be entered into a notification app, message, payment page or support chat.

Does MarketPulse need a wallet or exchange connection?

No. Reading educational notes and activating the first note do not require a wallet, exchange account, card, deposit, platform connection, phone or password.
